Hello Backers,

Happy belated 4th-of-July to the backers in the USA. This year's celebration is quite subdued as the pandemic situation in the USA is spiraling out of control. Confusions and fears are ravaging the nation. The only hope for us is probably the discovery of a vaccine. The good news is many countries are launching concerted efforts and with good progress. We hope the progress continues toward, ultimately, finding the vaccine soon (fingers crossed).

On our front, manufacturing, is going as planned. Not much to report yet. We are in constant communication with them and will let you know of any progress milestones. As for mobile-application development, we are ready to start iOS development. This should not take too long. After that, it just a matter of putting everything together. 

We are aware that there are still many challenges ahead. We try to plan and anticipate as much as we can. There are things, however, that we cannot control: pandemic, trade conflicts, and the downturn in the economy. These external forces prove the be difficult to anticipate. The one and only thing we can do is continuing to move forward and get to the finish line as soon and as best we can, so, you all can get to enjoy SmartTerra.

Hello backers,

The weather is warming up nicely in the northeast and businesses are starting to reopen. Everyone feels like they have beaten the pandemic and is starting to ease up a bit. However, many experts emphasize that everyone should still stay vigilant and continue to follow guidelines. The last thing we want is to go through shutdown again if the second wave of infection ever happens. 

On our end, production has resumed. There is nothing much to report on that front since we are still in the early processes, though our Chinese manufacturers warned us to keep a close eye on the US-China Trade dispute. If this escalates, it could greatly affect costs and logistics. We will keep you informed on the situation as it pans out.

We are putting together a demo video of the latest pre-production unit, as requested by one of our backers. We will post it soon within the next week. We still have some work to do on the mobile application development front. 

These past months have been super challenging for us all, and many challenges still lie ahead. It is important that we tread this water of uncertainties carefully. Regardless, our team is as committed as ever to get SmartTerra delivered to you as soon as possible.

Forging Ahead

Hello Backers,

We hope everyone is staying safe. The weather is getting warmer and nicer here. It is difficult to resist going outside to enjoy the outdoors. This lockdown has not been easy for anyone: it is financially and psychologically taxing. People are eager to get back to work and regain some sense of normalcy. Businesses are having a hard time adapting to the situation, including us. We are constantly figuring out ways to manage how we work in this new normal.

The good news is, after much coordination with the manufacturers, we will begin production by the end of this week. According to our Chinese manufacturers, they are finally back in full force. This past month, we've spent a lot of time trying to work out how to manage production without being there in person. We have been methodically preparing documents with lots of illustrations in order to communicate with our partners. We are hoping that during production we can be there to inspect the work ourselves, instead of having to rely entirely on our partners in China for quality inspection. Although faced with numerous challenges, we are forging ahead.

We are still trying the best we can to deliver quality products to our customers as soon as possible. We will keep you updated on the production process and the delivery time.  Thank you for your support and understanding. Please stay safe. We will get through this together.

Hang Tight and Stay Safe

Dear Backers,

At this moment, the COVID-19 virus is dominating and disrupting our lives in many ways. Everything seems have come to a standstill. Most manufacturers have cut down or stop production altogether. Many businesses, big and small, have shuttered their doors. Even the NBA — yes you heard that right — has cancelled the rest of the season! And we, as part of the community, are doing everything we can to comply and contribute. To us, nothing seems to matter more than staying healthy and safe. 

All of us are working from home at this time. Admitting, it is very challenging to operate a business this way. We anticipated that things would get better by the end of March, but unfortunately, the situation only seems to be getting worse. Before this, a crucial part of our plan was to be in China to coordinate production with the manufacturers. But now that international travel is out of the question, we have been forced into a very difficult situation. Therefore, we are asking you to hang tight as we try to figure out a strategy to push forward with the production without us being there physically. All of us will get over this difficult time together, however long it takes.
