First, thank you to everyone for backing our project. I am a computer engineer who loves to tinker with electronics and anything that has to do with technology, but I also love nature. Being able to marry my two passions to create SmartTerra is my ultimate dream.
Typical terrariums are beautiful and relaxing to look at, but, to me, they are just too static. I wanted to create a terrarium that can replicate the dynamic elements of nature--for example rain, lightning, and sound. It also had to be technologically smart and carefree. Living in New England can be quite blue in the winter. Having SmartTerra in my office playing the soothing sound of ocean waves and seeing a little droplet on a leaf after the rainfall helps improve my mood, and I hope it does the same for all of you. Additionally, not having to care for the plants is a huge bonus for me!
I can't wait to get going on production, and I need all of your help spreading the word!

Now that you’ve helped us reach our goal, not only are you guaranteed to get your SmartTerra, we’ll also be brainstorming some initial stretch goals for you. Thank you all so much for supporting SmartTerra. With your help, we have reached the 50% funded mark, and we would not be here without you.
One question we have been getting a lot is, “how often do I have to fill the water tray?”
You will generally need to fill the water tray every three weeks depending on the types of plants you have. The SmartTerra app will indicate when your SmartTerra needs more water.
We still have a way to go before we reach our funding goal, so please keep spreading the word and help us make SmartTerra a reality:
